Sealink’s history is defined by its evolution from a regional timber-focused business into a global integrated service provider in the offshore marine industry, operating as a shipbuilder, owner, operator, and repairer.
Established by Mr. Yong Foh Choi, the company began its core business within the timber industry, utilizing landing crafts, tugs, and barges to support regional operations.
Recognizing shifts in the maritime economy, Sealink transitioned its focus toward the offshore oil and gas industry.
The Group formally established Sealink Shipyard Sdn Bhd as its shipbuilding arm to design and construct customized vessels.
The shipyard delivered its first custom landing craft, named "Sealink Victoria", establishing its credentials in vessel fabrication.
Sealink Shipyard joined the Malaysia Ship-owners Association (MASA) as an ordinary member.
The company officially registered with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health on October 16, 2001.
Sealink Engineering and Slipway Sdn Bhd (SESSB) was established.
On July 29, 2008, Sealink International Berhad was officially listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia, providing capital for major fleet and infrastructure expansion.
The Group constructed a Bollard Pull Station in Sipitang, Sabah, expanding its technical service offerings to include certified pull testing.
Sealink Shipyard was assessed and certified by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) for conforming to ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System requirements.
Sealink introduced ship repair services as a major third revenue stream, complementing its existing shipbuilding and chartering divisions.
The Group achieved a record gross profit of RM20.9 million for the financial year ended December 31, 2023, signaling strong growth momentum.
