To assist the Operation Team Lead in all aspects of the operations management function of Sealink.
Act as focal person on the operational link between Vessels, Marine Coordinator and Operational Matters with Client
Supervise Marine Coordinators, ensuring compliance with company and client standards.
Monitor vessel movements, fuel consumption, and overall voyage performance.
Coordinate and support dry docking, major repairs, and emergency technical attendances in collaboration with the Technical Department.
To liaise with other departments and co-ordinate all port activities so that they are carried out in an efficient and cost effective manner.
Ensure vessel readiness for all internal and external inspections, audits, and regulatory compliance in accordance with statutory requirements, company standards, and charter party terms.
Assist with investigations, client communications, and vessel operational reviews.
Travel as needed for inspections, dry dockings, or client/site meetings.
Preferably ex-Senior Officer or Engineer with a offshore support vessel background.
At least 2-5 years of operational or shore-based experience managing or supporting vessel operations.gs.
Certificate of Competency Class 2 (Unlimited) – Deck or Engine will be added advantages.
Assist in maintenance works for Company’s fleet of vessels and heavy machineries and equipments.
Carry out duty at workshop, fabrication yard, shipyard or any other location as assigned to by superior.
Preheat and clean metals; lays out, cuts, and fits materials for welding.
To select proper welding heat, type and size of electrodes for correct penetration and strength of welded metals.
Perform gouging and welding on machinery and equipment such as truck and automobile bodies, piping, pump and engine parts, trailer parts, heavy construction equipment and parts, and similar machinery and apparatus.
Perform flat, vertical, and horizontal welding; brazes, solders, and coats nonferrous metals; inspects, brushes, and grinds welds.
Perform blacksmithing, such as manufacturing eye bolts, braces, angle brackets, and similar items; adds metal to tools and parts.
Maintain and do minor repairs to welding equipment.
At least 1–2 years of working experience as a welder or fitter.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
To maintain and upkeep vessel on standby and doing lay-up at wharf in Miri.
To make report, feedbacks to team lead on urgent and important matter concerning ship condition and related information from time to time.
To liaise with third party for on or off hire bunker survey.
To follow up with masters or chief engineer to submit all required documents to office.
To liaise with agents at ports of call on the vessel status.
To prepare Daily Vessel Movement Report and circulate it to other department.
To keep track on all the vessel’s statutory certificates and keep them current and on annual survey with class and marine.
To check, verify and supervise requisitions from vessels against physical condition in the vessel.
Carry out planned survey onboard vessel, conduct site inspection, to highlight necessary maintenance and repair (when necessary) and to follow safe work practices.
Ad-hoc tasks instructed by Management.
At least 2 years working experience in marine offshore vessel operations.
Attended required offshore courses and offshore safety training.
Familiar and conversion with ISM & ISPS code requirement, compliance with SOLAS & MARPOL etc.
To inspect and test machinery and equipment and ensure conformance to standards.
To troubleshoot, identify and repair malfunctions of equipment or machinery.
To test-run equipment/ machinery after repairs and monitor machinery condition.
To carry out scheduled maintenance work, modifications and improvements to machinery.
To confer with production personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operational conditions of machinery and equipment.
To fabricate, modify and repair metal parts and tools in workshop.
To train other team members in mechanical maintenance.
To maintain safety in the work environment at all times.
To follow rules and standards towards a clean and safe working environment.
To perform any other duty as maybe assigned by Head of Department from time to time.
At least 1–2 years of working experience in mechanical maintenance or repair, preferably in a marine, heavy equipment, or industrial environment.
Minimum SPM or at least Certificate in Mechanical, Automotive, or related technical field.
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Physically fit and able to work in workshop, shipyard, or field environments.
Willing to work overtime or during weekends when required.
Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills.
Conduct routine inspections on vessel electrical systems to ensure operational integrity and safety compliance.
Liaise with onboard ETOs, engineers, and superintendents to track electrical maintenance records and provide solutions to recurring issues.
Monitor stock levels and requisition critical electrical spare parts as needed.
On a case-by-case basis, travelling for ship visits, ship roving, assisting in electrical maintenance, monitoring ongoing work, or performing inspections as directed by the Maintenance/Technical Manager or management.
Perform any other duties or assignments as instructed by the Maintenance Manager, Technical Manager, or company management.
Minimum 2-3 years experience onboard vessels as Electrician or ETO.
Familiar with offshore support vessels (AHTS, MPSV, SSV, LCT, etc.) is an advantage.
Strong understanding of marine electrical systems, generators, switchboards, PLC, and automation systems.
Able to interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and equipment manuals.
Good communication and report-writing skills.
Willing to travel offshore or to shipyard occasionally, if required.
Knowledge of Class, SOLAS, and relevant maritime regulations is a plus.
To manage and supervise the activities of the staff in the Operations Department.
Managing the day to day running of offshore vessels operations activity.
To review and evaluate operations department staff performance and offshore crew performance and advise management accordingly.
To obtain, maintain and disseminate as appropriate all necessary information on Marine Warnings and Notices and facilities and limitations at various ports.
Coordinate and responsible for Ship Audits, Survey, and Inspections for the compliance of IMCA, Mardep, Classification Society, OVID, or other ISM and operational related requirements.
To take leadership role in identifying ways and means of improving the productivity of efficiency of the department and to initiate and implement changes to achieve improvements.
To implement the company’s operations and SMS SOP and policy.
To participate in Management SMS Review and HSE Meeting.
To participate in accident/ incident investigation.
To act as assisting personnel in Emergency Response Team.
Degree (Marine Engineering/Nautical Studies)
More than 7 years experience in related field
Seagoing experience as a Senior Officer/Engineer or higher will be added advantage
